Senior Scala Developer

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participating in agile development projects for batch and real-time data processing.
- Resolving production issues with other team members and teams.
- Implementing APIs and streaming services
- Maintaining database storage, optimizing queries and data layout in both relational and NoSQL databases
- Applying your technical proficiency across different stages of the software development life cycle including requirements elicitation, application architecture definition, and design.
- Exploring, understanding, and implementing next-generation technologies (in particular within the Scala ecosystem).
- Writing and reviewing excellent code in Scala.
What you have:
- 4+ years of Functional programming with Scala
- Experience with the modern functional stack (Cats, ZIO, Cats Effect)
- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL data stores (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, S3)
- Experience with Microservices Architecture
- Experience developing using docker containers or Kubernetes
- Experience writing REST APIs
- Knowledge of Scala HTTP stack (Akka, Akka HTTP, ZIO Streams)
- Understanding test-driven development
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field would be of great value, but if you’re passionate and have the experience that backs up your abilities, for us, talent outweighs degree every time.
