AI Engineer

  • Remote, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica

About the Role

You will design and ship AI-native products, from agentic workflow design through production operation. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can own a system end to end and bring real production discipline to agentic AI work.

What we expect

  • 5+ years of experience delivering production software end to end: backend, API, frontend, deployment, and operations.
  • Depth in at least one ecosystem (.NET, TypeScript, Python, or JVM) and a track record of becoming productive in another. We are deliberately stack-agnostic, but not looking for a generalist without depth.
  • Proven design of agentic workflows: decomposing a task into steps an agent can complete reliably, deciding what belongs in the model versus deterministic code, and choosing between a single agent, a graph, and a plain pipeline.
  • Practical command of the building blocks: tool and function calling, MCP-based integrations, orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, or equivalent), state and memory across steps, and retrieval where it earns its place.
  • Designs agents that fail safely: no duplicated side effects when a call is retried, hard limits on steps and spend, confirmation before irreversible actions, and validation between steps so one bad result does not propagate through the run.
  • Measures agent quality against a repeatable set of test cases rather than impressions, and traces every step of a run to find where it went wrong.
  • Fluency in AI-assisted development with disciplined review of generated code. You read the full diff, question unnecessary abstractions, and remove what does not belong.
  • Ownership of the practices that make rapid delivery safe: automated tests, type safety, CI gates, small reviewable pull requests, and a clear definition of done.
  • Visible influence on team quality through code review, technical conventions, and mentoring.
