Senior Data QA Engineer
Remote, CET time zone, or Sarajevo (Hybrid)Authority Partners is looking for a QA Engineer with strong data testing expertise to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and performance of our data pipelines, models, and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have experience testing ETL/ELT processes, validating data transformations, and assuring data quality across analytics platforms.
What you will do:
What you will do:
- Design and execute test strategies for data pipelines, data warehouses, and BI dashboards.
- Validate data transformations, aggregations, and business rules in ETL/ELT workflows.
- Perform end-to-end data validation, from ingestion to reporting layers.
- Build automated data quality checks (row counts, schema validation, duplicates, referential integrity).
- Test and monitor BI dashboards for accuracy, filters, and performance.
- Work with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and expected data outcomes.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating data quality and regression tests.
- Investigate data discrepancies and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Document test plans, test cases, and QA standards for data projects.
What you have:
- Strong SQL skills for querying, validation, and test automation.
- Hands-on experience testing ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks.
- Experience with Python for automation.
- Ability to design and execute test cases, test plans, and defect reports.
- Proficiency with test management and issue tracking tools.
- Experience with automation frameworks (Pytest, Selenium, or similar).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for investigating data and system issues.
- Clear communication and documentation skills for cross-functional collaboration.
You stand out if you have:
- Familiarity with data testing frameworks (Great Expectations, Soda, dbt tests).
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Exposure to Azure cloud services.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
- Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
