Senior Data Engineer

Remote, CET time zone

Authority Partners is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. You will design, expand, and optimize data pipelines and architectures to support cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is skilled in building and enhancing data systems, supporting developers, analysts, and scientists, and ensuring seamless data delivery across projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Creating and maintaining optimal data, and data pipeline architectures
  • Assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Document models, diagrams to development teams, architecture review board, and technical leadership
  • Be responsible for the development and production support of data integration, automation, and defining pipeline for data integrations
  • Explore and research new technologies and perform POCs as needed
  • Building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using relational and “big data” technologies
  • Building analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics
  • Coordinate with stakeholders/business users to get report requirements and other teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Keeping our data separated and secure across national boundaries, and through multiple data centers and cloud provider regions
  • Creating data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our applications and services
  • Working with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems


What you have:
  • 5+ years in a Data Engineer role
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
  • Experience building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Experience using the following software/tools:
    • Must Have
      • Proven experience with Python and SQL
      • Experience with Databricks
      • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (FnO)
      • Experience with the Azure ecosystem, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Microsoft Fabrics
      • Extensive experience using ETL tools
      • Knowledge of other data and BI tools such as Power BI, AI/BI Databricks dashboard
      • Experience with PowerShell
      • Fluent in both written and spoken English 
    • Nice to have:
      • Experience with Snowflakes and Azure DevOps

Education:
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
